Bash is on the clock

Put Me In Coach

I am proud of my credentials. “Top Dog” certainly evokes a sense of greatness—and I take the title seriously. Finding truth in: “With great power comes great responsibility.” (Thanks, Uncle Ben.)

As it turns out, I’m not the only one. There’s another Top Dog here in Pittsburgh. His name is Steeler—and even his name is cool. Steeler is a highly trained explosives-detection Labrador working at Pittsburgh International Airport. He spends his days keeping travelers safe and earns every bit of praise that comes his way. But I have to ask: How did Steeler get recruited? No one called me. Don’t get me wrong—it’s inspiring to see a fellow pup rocking a high-stakes role. But perhaps not every dog is destined for that kind of work. My responsibilities here are important ones. Client relations? Exceptional. Color awareness? Impeccable—adverse to the myth, dogs are not colorblind. I am appreciated and well compensated: toys, treats, walks and hugs.

Alas, I remain a free agent, but luring me away from this team would take serious negotiation. On that note—check out the talented recruits hitting our great city this month.
