SVEN DE JONG Senior Vice President

Sven de Jong brings 16 years of higher education experience to BD&E, having served at both public and private institutions. During his higher education career he oversaw the areas of advancement, enrollment management, financial aid and marketing. He executed institutional branding campaigns, capital campaigns and enrollment initiatives. Sven served as the Senior Vice President and Interim President at Bethany College and understands well the challenges that many higher education institutions face in a time of increased competition, decreased budgets and changing student demographics.

Prior to serving in higher education, Sven spent over 8 years in the financial services sector, having held series 6, 7, 63, life and health insurance licenses. He has a strong knowledge and appreciation for the financial services sector and how technology is impacting customer interaction with organizations.

A graduate of Bethany College in West Virginia, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Economics and German, and a Master of Science degree from Eastern University in Non-Profit Management. Sven has always been involved in his community, having served for over 15 years as a volunteer firefighter and EMT, and as Mayor of his community. He served on the Board of The Neighborhood Academy, and is actively involved with the G02 Foundation for Lung Cancer and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.
