RECOLOR® PAINTS
RECOLOR Brand Development
RECOLOR® Paints, a pioneering brand in sustainable manufacturing, has spent more than a decade redefining what it means to recycle. Founded in 2009 by two women with backgrounds in painting, design and biochemistry, RECOLOR® was born out of a mission to tackle the staggering volume of paint waste in the United States—estimated in the tens of millions of gallons annually. By collecting unused, post-consumer and post-industrial paint and rigorously filtering and remanufacturing it, RECOLOR® has created a high-quality, eco-conscious alternative for both professional and residential use. Their product lineup includes a diverse range of interior, exterior and chalk paints, all crafted with a commitment to durability, performance and sustainability.
As the company expanded their reach across the U.S. and into Canada, RECOLOR® recognized the need for a brand identity that would reflect their premium quality and environmental mission. They partnered with BD&E to revitalize their brand. BD&E developed a modern brand identity, including a new logo and comprehensive packaging redesign for more than 80 paint products. The refreshed visual system was designed to resonate with environmentally conscious consumers and professionals alike—those looking for performance without compromise. This collaboration marked a turning point for RECOLOR®, setting the stage for accelerated market presence and consumer engagement.
Today, RECOLOR® stands as a leading recycled paint brand in North America, offering a vibrant spectrum of colors while keeping millions of gallons of unused paint out of landfills, waterways and incinerators. Their rebrand has not only elevated their visual identity but also amplified their core message: that sustainability and quality can go hand in hand. By choosing RECOLOR®, customers don’t just get premium paint—they become part of a movement to protect the planet and infuse it with lasting, beautiful color.
