Mom’s Traditional Holiday Stuffing Recipe
Melt 1/2 stick of butter in a large skillet.
Add 2 large onions, chopped into small cubes and sauté.
Add 1 bunch of chopped celery stalks (use entire stalk) and sauté.
Continue to sauté until onions and celery are very tender.
Fill turkey roaster or other large vessel with 4 bags (12oz. each) of seasoned bread cubes
Add sautéed vegetables, mix well .
Crack and mix 2 eggs, pour over bread and vegetables, mix well .
Melt 1-1/2 sticks of butter and drizzle over while mixing.
Add 2 tablespoons of parsley and 3 tablespoons of poultry seasoning, mix well .
Add total of 48 ounces of Chicken Broth in three separate pours ,
Mix well by hand between stock pours.
You get the hint…Mix Everything Well to avoid pockets of soggy bread.
Now the fun part: stuff that prepared 15-20 lb. bird!
Add remaining stuffing to perimeter, continue to baste with turkey.
If cooking in a separate covered casserole dish, add some stock prior baking.
